Commercial Description:
Cricket Hill American Ale is an easy drinking “amber” ale with a wonderful balance of caramel sweetness and hop flavor. The aroma has a slight note of citrus and rock candy. There is not an imported ale on the market that tastes this fresh.

08.13.05 12oz bottle with a blank area below where it states: bottling date. The only thing that irks me more than a brewer not giving some sort of date on a bottle or other packaging, is a brewer that teases with the promise of a date but does not come through. Okay, that rants out of the way....Beer is orange amber with slight head of uneven white bubbles, attractive. Aroma is peppery, resinous, and biscuit, also some dead grass, taffy (no, not toffee). Flavor is standard, plain, and mostly uninteresting. Spicy resins are gone, as is most of the swseetness. What remains is a dead grass tea. Thin body is almost peat smoked, but not; almost sweet, but not; almost sweaty, and, oh yes, it’s swwweaty. There’s an underlying mineral something or other that I was trying to pin down as something from the hops, but no, it’s just a musty sweat that lingers, subtly, but it’s there. No thanks. Body is light and effy. I don’t know what about this beer is supposed to be "American".

Thanks for the bottle, Duane. Medium amber colored body with a slightly yellowish head. Fairly strong citrus aroma of oranges and some flowers. There is also a very light pine note. There is also some biscuit. The taste is light with caramel and some light smoked wood. There is also a light note of Golden Delicious apples in the finish. Nicely done.

At NJ Craft Brew Fest 2005: A solid amber ale. Perhaps their best beer available that day. They should brew more beers.

Draft... Harrisburg Beer Festival 2... Clear amber ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. The aroma and flavor are pretty nondescript. Perfectly balanced. Light to medium-bodied and fizzy. Short, crisp, clean finish. A hint of malt, but, in the end, way too thin for the style.

12 oz bottle-pours a big foamy tan head that reduces and leaves a nice lacing, color is a clear amber. Aroma is a nice blend of malt/hops. Taste is a little undercarbonated but nice. 080324- -on tap-nice hops bite. Good carbonation. 3.2

Copper hue with a sweet taste and slight hop finish. Easy to drink and fairly pleasant taste. Would be a good beer for summer cookouts in my opinion.

Bottle courtesy of Wohlfs. Pours copper with decent white head that fades to film. Nice lacing. Sweet caramel and light citrus hop aroma. Flavor very well balanced between malt and hops, with a decent hop kick at the end. Pleasantly surprised! No way I would have guessed amber on this.
