Aroma is somewhat delicate as nothing really jumps out at you. A very nice balance of floral+citrus hops and a nice crystal malt aroma. Flavor is mostly light caramel with hints of floral hops in the background. Very clean tasting and quaffable. swirl (267), collingswood, New Jersey, USA

They are well on their way to acheiving just that. This is a nice caramel colored ale that offers a nice flavor that is quite refreshing. Suttree (2750), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Piney, grapefruit flavors with a viscoous, smooth palate. Note of toffee and blueberry as it warms, it remains a very quaffable brew. Very Tasty. Thanks to Lou18 for the trade! barleyPops (1081), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 6, 2005 Bottle. Deep amber color. Tannish head leaves very nice lacing. Sweet caramel malt aroma, good solid hop notes also. Medium bodied. Smooth. Initial taste is sweet and then a very pleasant hop bitterness fades in and out. Quite nice for an amber ale. Thanks Lou!! | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 26, 2005 bottle courtesy of lmgraz1...clear amber pour with a medium beige head. Nice malty aroma, with some floral hop lurking in the background. Maybe a hint of citrus peel. Nice chewy mouthfeel, nice malty character to begin with, lending to a nice balance of hop presence. There is a pronounced hop hit in the middle, but it is very welcome. This is a very intriguing brew. I like it a lot. Thanks to Lou for hooking me up. richlikebeer (832), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 26, 2005 More goodness from lmgraz1, gave a mild malty smell, and a very pretty amber color. Head was cream colored and full, faded down to line the sides of the glass. Flavor is a nice blend of hops with a strong malted middle, ending back on the hops. Tail is a litte bitter, and not as crisp as I was expecting from how CH describes it. Mouthfeel is pretty full, again being a little more than I expected for an ale, maybe a little closer to a lager. Overall, a good beer, I would definitely drink again. jeffc666 (1898), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 8, 2005 Sparkling amber with a medium foamy light manila head. The aroma is strong and comes up strong during the pour. Sweet caramel, light cinnamon, citrus hops, and floral hops. The flavor is quite bitter throughout, bready in the middle, and floral at the end. The caramel/cinnamon detected in the aroma is only lightly present in the flavor. Medium assertive body. One of the better ambers I have had. Much more bitter than a typical amber.
