Funky citrus orange sweet aroma with lots of roasted maltiness and some caramel present. Transparent copper color with a small off white head. A bit sweet, citrusy to start with some sugariness. Roasty toasted malts to finish. With more of the watery, citrus notes blending in. Muddled flavors. I also get some mintiness in the finish. This is just a strange strange meld of flavors that really has no direction. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 18, 2005 Pleasantly tart citrus-grapefruit hop nose with a sweet, round caramelly malt character. Clear burnished copper coloured body is topped by a decent, fine bubbled white head that recedes to cover with some lace. Caramel malts are thick and sweet with herbal, citrus hop flavours and medium bitterness. Medium light body with fair cabonation. Sampled at Kennett Square Brewfest 2005. austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA

I just shouldn’t have ordered it, as this style of beer isn’t to my liking. dirtymike (2018), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 7, 2005 Now in DC (12 oz bottle) - Clear sparkling amber, thick creamy lightly tanned head. Great lacing all the way through. The nose was a nice blend of toasted grains, florals, and touches of toffee. Flavor was similar with floral hops and caramel malt balancing each other to near perfection. Full bodied, soft smooth carbonation, bittersweet finish. Very easy to drink, perfect for quantity sessions, and not nearly as bad as the score would indicate.
