Sampled at Noogfest High 5. The body was dark brown with some copper at the edges. The aroma was strong bourbon with some cherries. The taste was strong bourbon with some vanilla. There was also some milk chocolate. A little sweet.

A dark black pour with off white head and lace. Super coffee aroma with a subtle BB aroma as well. Coffeish flavor with a nice light to medium BB touch. Medium full bodied beer with a nice medium bitter malt finish.

Several samples at the brewery. Just about black in color with a medium tan head. Aroma of light oak, vanilla, whiskey, chocolate, mild roast. Taste has chocolate, roast, vanilla, mild oak tannins and a touch of whiskey. Being that this was a porter and not a big stout I was thinking that the barrel and whiskey may have overpowered the taste but that wasn’t the case at all. It was very well integrated, well balanced and added some really nice flavor and aroma to an already solid porter. Well done.

Sampled at Beerhawk’s Beer Gods in the Boro, aka 1000 Bottles of Beer on the Wall, By God Beer God Gathering, BG1K Tasting. Near black pour with small tan head. Succotash aroma note was unusual. Roast and toffee in the flavor. Nothing special really, pretty average in my summation.

Sampled at Noogfest. Pours a lot like cola. The aroma is chocolatey, like brownies with a very wooden bourbon character. Hm. The palate is quite thin with very low carbonation. The flavor is good initially with a reasonable level of vanilla, nuts, and dark chocolate, but this is really watery. The finish is very quick. I would have liked this much more had the mouthfeel been a notch fuller and the flavor a bit more robust.

Thanks jcwattsrugger for the share. Pours dark brown with an off-white head. Nose is chocolate, roast, malt, raisin, dark fruit, and some of the barreled notes. Flavor is similar with very light bourbon and oak. Best Cricket Hill Beer I have had.

Bottle shared by lithy. Poured black with a quick tan head. Aromas of buttered bread, chocolate milk, and light bourbon. The flavor found vanilla, coffee, and a roast. Medium body
