Jan 12, 2009 Several samples at the brewery. Just about black in color with a medium tan head. Aroma of light oak, vanilla, whiskey, chocolate, mild roast. Taste has chocolate, roast, vanilla, mild oak tannins and a touch of whiskey. Being that this was a porter and not a big stout I was thinking that the barrel and whiskey may have overpowered the taste but that wasn’t the case at all. It was very well integrated, well balanced and added some really nice flavor and aroma to an already solid porter. Well done.

Feb 5, 2009 Nice, easy to drink, bourbon aged Porter. Whiskey flavor is certainly present, as is the aroma. Well done, well balanced, well made.

May 24, 2009 Bottle, courtesy jcwattsrugger. Dark brownish body, thin tan head, minimal lacing. Sweet chocolate roast in the nose, coffee, some dry grain. Soft subtle chocolate notes, dry coffee, some slight caramel. Medium-bodied, balanced, and tasty.

May 25, 2009 Thanks jcwattsrugger for the share. Pours dark brown with an off-white head. Nose is chocolate, roast, malt, raisin, dark fruit, and some of the barreled notes. Flavor is similar with very light bourbon and oak. Best Cricket Hill Beer I have had.

Apr 5, 2009 BeerHawk’s Beer Gods in the Boro, aka 1000 Bottles of Beer on the Wall, By God Beer God Gathering, BG1K Tasting. Sample from a bottle thanks to decaturstevo. Black with brown edges and an off white head. Aroma is whiskey, bourbon, smoke, chocolate. Taste is mostly bourbon, roasted malts and a chocolate finish.

May 13, 2009 A dark black pour with off white head and lace. Super coffee aroma with a subtle BB aroma as well. Coffeish flavor with a nice light to medium BB touch. Medium full bodied beer with a nice medium bitter malt finish.

Apr 7, 2009 Pours black with chocolate and molasses aroma. Has a creamy butterscotch taste and a nice bitter finish. Very well balanced.
