The aroma is slightly sour and not too invitingly pleasant. Seems almost infected. Better in the mouth but still ordinary. A touch of sour pineapple. oh6gdx (8855), Vasa, Finland

Well behaved and quite acceptable. Juice and sweetness. It’s like a strong APA rather than an IPA - and there is no "English IPA". chriso (4796), London, Greater London, England
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 8, 2009 Cask (gravity) at GBBF 2009, Day 1 @ 6.0%. Incorrectly listed in the programme as Hypnotic IPA. Quite pale gold colour. Some citrus and tropical fruit notes but definitely in an East Coast/UK style rather than the more assertive aromatic, heavily hopped US IPA style. Seen in that light it worked quite well in cask format without quite summoning up a lot of excitement. A pleasant drinking beer.

Golden color, small white head. Pineapple-pear aroma, some alcohol, like a strong cider. Strong hop juice flavor: peach, pineapple, hops.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 28, 2009 The look is a transparent yellow with a tinge of orange. Color and depth of a pale lager. A tall, white head, with specks of lace. The aroma is pale crystalline malts. Lemon and orange hop. Not unpleasant, but very very weak. Smells like a pale with a little extra; needs a lot more hop aroma for balance. The taste is lemon, orange and hints of grapefruit and tangerines. Malts are very pale-like. It’s actually more like a pale ale with some extra stuff added in. A small bite in the aftertates. As it warms up, some toasted malts start to emerge and bite a little. The feel is fizzy and decently bodied. It’s a heavily-malted English-style IPA. The hops are but an accent. Not bad, but not exciting.
