Very very light carbonation. Flavor was subdued - which makes a little more sense now that I read the description "an English Ale". Nothing particularly offensive about this beer, it’s just there. Ordinary. mcox90 (646), Wilton, USA

Aroma is almost nonexistent, but there are some faint hop and malt notes. Thin palate with average carbonation. Flavor was a bland balance of hops and malt. beerfest5 (193), Simsbury, Connecticut, USA

Aroma is sweet and somewhat malty with notes of straw, grass, yeast, bread, light citrus and floral hops. Flavor is sweet and malty with more prominent malt notes, honey, caramel, some light citrus and hops. Generally light body with a somewhat watery finish. beernbourbon (301), chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 27, 2009 Thanks to fredandboboflo for this one. Pour is slightly hazy golden color with small fleeting white head. Aroma is sweet malt, lemon, grass, a hint of saison-like funk, and subtle citrus hops. Flavor is less complex than nose implied: malt up front with a slight hop kick behind it. A touch of black pepper, a touch of citrus hop character and a yeasty finish. Maybe some pear/apple in finish. Taste is kind of like a hoppier lager, solid beer. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 22, 2009 Nose is stewed celery and corn and other vegetables - undesirable. Some stale/old apples and caramel malt as well. Texture: oily, filmy, sticky. Flavor: sharp and putrid grains, some mold blood oranges. Oxidation evident. Caramel malt combined with oxidation is not good at all. Metallic, twangy. Moderately bitter, some grassy and juicy citrus notes in the finish. fredandboboflo (1417), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 4, 2009 Bottle. Aroma of spicy, peppery hops, some pine resin, mild citrus, sweet, caramel malt. Flavor again has some nice pine resin and more toasted malt character than the sweetness in the nose seemed. Still some fruity sweetness lingering though as well. Full bodied and pretty sticky. Maybe it’s not a bruising IPA, but sub-3 average? Shocking! LilBeerDoctor (1508), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 27, 2009 Bottle. Pours a clear light orange with a very small white head. Aroma of sweet fruits, grapefruit, and light citrus. Flavor is mostly malty, with some melon and citrus too. Definitely not very hoppy, but it’s still a pretty enjoyable beer. Easy to drink too.
