Commercial Description:
No mere beverage could satisfy the thirst of the courageous and gallant soldiers who stood guard over the colonies of the British Empire. Their thirst could only be quenched by a full-bodied hearty Ale; an Ale balanced with rich flavorful hops. We are proud to offer our interpretation of this English style India Pale Ale for those who loong for the time when once your duty was complete, the taste of a fine Ale was reward enough for a job well done.

Bottle. Pours a dark orange gold body with a white head. What a metallic bitter hop profile, very cloying with a big malt body. I did not enjoy this.

courtesy of retorp. Pours copper with white head. Taste aroma are unoriginal, really wonder how this is an IPA, more malts coming up front reminiscent of an amber rather than IPA. Boring IPA, unbalanced.

Poors a nice deep yellow. Good balance of hops with some caramel in the background. Very good beer from a great company.

Hand bottled and shared by decaturstevo. Poured amber with an off-white head that left light lacing. Hoppy aroma of citrus with a caramel backing. The flavor finds a light hop bitterness that carries some caramel with it. Light body and smooth. Decent overall.

Bottle from Stevo. Pours out a yellowish color with a white head on it. Smell is plenty hoppy, grassy, with plenty of citrus and some orange peel in it. Taste is smooth and somewhat bitter, sweet but not too sweet. Steve gave me a bottle of this to try, so when I drink that one this week I will update this rating. Its not a bad beer, surprisingly rated lower than I thought it should be.

Oxidationfest Tasting at illinsmitty’s. Pours clear gold with ring of off-white head. Aroma is faint hop. Flavor has a punch of hops. Not particularly wellbalanced. Kind of watery. Nothing special here.

Pretty bland all in all. Watery feel and a malty sweetness. Not a lot of hop bite though. About average.
