I didn’t like the hop-taste as much as I do in other IPAs. Not a bad beer, I plan on trying it again sometime. Nice aroma though, I like the smell of caramel I got. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 20, 2007 Pours quite a light golden copper, almost a shade darker than a run-of-the-mill pale lager. Fluffy head of off-white formed easily, and the lacing was sparse yet chunky when it did stick. Mild aromas of earthy hops, nothing to write home about. Flavors are fruity, tinny, a touch oxidized, and sharply bitter. Dry and constricting to the tongue. Meh... vyvvy (2068), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 8, 2007 Thanks to dmac621 for sending this bonus. Pours orange / copper with a sudsy beige head. The aroma is coming off muddled with weird fruitiness, light cardboard and a moderate amount of sweetness - not very IPA-like. Medium smooth body at first, then thin and watery with minimal soft carbonation. The flavor starts with nectar-ish fruitiness, some medicinal traits and sharp sourness. The finish has some spice and woody hops along with cardboard and lingering sourness. Fair beer, I have a hard time buying that this is an IPA though. ghostmonkey (182), budd lake, New Jersey, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 11/20 | Jun 18, 2007 12 oz bottle. Poured an orangey/amber that had a little bit of haze to it and an average size white head. Aroma had some initial piney hops to it but that faded into a slight floral hop aroma with a caramel malt sweetness mixed in, needed more hop assertiveness though. The palate on this beer was the best thing about it with a smooth medium bodied mouthfeel with just the right touch of carbonation. Flavor was nothing special and did not have enough hop bite to make me happy. I would say this beer is slightly under average, not bad but nothing to write home about either. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 19, 2007 I thought this was an English style IPA and research shows this to be the correct case. I think this is underated because people get a drier, pale plus hopped ale. This is somewhat leaf dry astringency and on the bitter side, it is malted to ease drinkability and nicely done.Lace and small head on orange.
