Cricket Hill Jersey Summer Breakfast Ale

Pours a cloudy pale to near golden yellow with a nice foamy head. An enticing aroma of Belgian ale yeast, mixed with a sweet malty taste that is (luckily) not overpowering. Carbonation is just right, making this golden ale easy to drink, Enjoyable, albeit a very loose interpretation of any sort of Belgian ale.

An almost copper pour with light head and lace. Aroma is caramel malt and a hint of metallic. Sweet malt with a metallic after taste a bit of a bitter. Not very much like a Belgian ale for me. When I first started on this beer the metallic was really present as it went on this beer warmed a tad and became better. Still I would like to try a fresh btl.

Super hazy orange tinted copper coloured beer with a soapy and VERY fast-dying slightly white head. Aroma of fresh malt, yeast, coriander seed and a very nice sweetness. Medium-bodied; Strong yeastie flavour up front with coriander seed, curacao and a bit of spice tucked in. Aftertaste shows some light sweetness and a pleasant maltiness. Overall, a solid and respectable beer. Showing perhaps a bit under-complex for the style, but nothing horrible by any means. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Ramsey’s Liquors in Ramsey, New Jersey on 19-January-2009, sampled at home in Washington on 11-February-2009.

Clear reddish orange with thin ring of whittish head. Aroma is almost sweet malt. Flavor is a little off. Verging on a sour ale, but not quite there. drinkable but nothing special.

KSBF 08 - Light golden color with small foamy head. Sticky but not sweet. Some honey and spice. A tad bland except for the sweet honey. Not really my thing.

KSBF 08- Hazy yellow with weak white head and gone pretty quick. Some sweetness and grassy hops but bland and nothing special. Do I hear River Horse?!

On tap at KSBF ’08. Hazy amber body with no head. Not much on the nose either just sweetness. Flavor was sweet and spicy. Rather bland. Try again Cricket Hill.

On tap at the KSBF ’08. Poured a medium and cloudy amber color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of grains, lightly fruity, and citrus. Tastes of grains, citrus, fruity, and spices.
