Pours red-brown with a small, frothy, white-pink head. Aroma is lovely tart, some kriek, funk. Nice. High, prickly carbonation, fine and rather dry mouthfeel. Flavour is light tart, lots of cherries, sweet malts, light cellar notes. Long, lingering, soft fruity tartness.

Aroma is sweet and acidic, with some balsamic vinegar showing and fruit. This is quite dry and acidic and really quite challenging, balsamic flavours again but the cherries do show along with some woodiness. I actually didn’t mind this and the label looked great. Orangy-red, brief fizzy head. Acidic, almost cidery, and acetone (nail-varnish) aroma. Once you’ve fought past that, there’s some sour cherries. Really crisp carbonation, sharp and acidic. Not all that puckering though, compared with what I expected from other people’s reviews. Beautiful oaky woody body. Really quite sharp, but also quite mellow. Cherry can’t really make its presence felt in the taste. Finish is heady with the acetone and woody phenols, and completely devoid of alcohol. One of the few sour ales to actually be sour enough to keep me happy - it’s right alongside, or even ahead of, Rodenbach. Storming!
