Taste is medium malty, light caramel, slightly fruity, hint of spice. Nothing special, but all-in-all, not bad. CaptainCougar (5457), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 15, 2002 Pretty interesting mix of flavors, a little sweet, a little sour, and a touch bitter. Very malty aroma which is somewhat misleading in that the body is a bit watery. The finish could be a bit crisper. This is still a pretty good beer though. BBB63 (4229), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | May 31, 2003 Copper color with fully diminishing head, no lace, medium-bodied. Roasted malt sweet aroma. Slighty sweet and fruity, a hint of nutty taste, somewhat unbalanced. Weird aftertaste, chalky. A less than average brew. Dogbrick (2855), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 13, 2002 Tasted at the Barrelhouse Brewing Company Microbrew Fest on November 9. This was a great beer to end the evening with. Crooked River’s beers seem to be hit-or-miss a lot of times but this is definitely one of the better ones. I can see keeping this one stocked for myself and for company. Reddish-orange with a medium light beige head. Malty aroma. Malt character is just enough that it is not syrupy or overly sweet. I really enjoyed this. Aubrey (2774), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 7, 2001 Clear and reddish with a foamy head. Richly malted, and somewhat fruity. Easy to drink and kinda nutty. A little cloying though. And the flavors were easy-to-read and rather uninteresting. I hope that doesn’t sound ’snobbish,’ but it just came to me. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 29, 2002 winter 2002 - nice red color, small head, decent lace. A step above any mass produced ’red’ (ie: 5 steps above Killians...) Had a nice thick malt but luckily not the chalky aftertaste the ’reds’ usually give me. nice warming session beer. jsquire (2107), St. Marys, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 19, 2002 I drank several of these on St. Patrick’s day and it is a very good Irish Red. it has a very clear copper color with a rocky head that left nice Begian lace all the way down the the glass. The flavor has a heavy malt profile. The finish is warm and alcoholic. And LuckeyHaskins, yes, it does cause a bad hangover.
