Cool label that suggests both medieval and space age mystery. Dark with a foamy head. Rich flavor that is close to being a stout - coffee, roasted grains, spices, and sweet malt. You can definitely taste the alien influence - no doubt the exhaust from their flying saucers found its way into this brew. joekinty (263), rockledge, Florida, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 25, 2004 A decent amber ale, with subdued hops and mild malts, finished off with strong caramel notes. Dark amber brown body with a lushy creamy head. Looks beautiful. Leaves a hint of bitterness on the back of my tongue, which is quite pleasant. Cocoa can also be found in the flavor. I wouldn’t call this beer out of balance, even though it is a liitle sweet. For an "amber ale", which I tend to think of is pretty bland, this is a nice surprise. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 15, 2007 Brown with a thick light beige head. Aroma of honey, toasted malt, and a wisp of floral hops. Also fruitiness on the nose, which was hard to pin down, but I settled on blueberry as the closest description. Flavor is mildly nutty, roasty even, with some woodsiness and a dusting of cocoa in the finish. Hops were moderate, keeping the focus on the deep maltiness. I thought this was quite good. I had absolutely no idea this weighed in at almost 7% ABV, the alcohol is fabulously well hidden. TheBeerLover (1019), DC Metro Area, USA

In any event, I enjoyed a pint of this one at the bar. Pours to a deep amber to red color, with a thick, creamy, white head, and a soft to moderate carbonation. The nose on this beer is estery, with lots of good fruity aromas of apple and plum, with some nice caramel malt sweetness, and hints of black pepper. The palate is soft and fat on the tongue, with good sweet and stewed malt flavors, paired some fruity esters. This beer finishes with more good sweet and caramel malt up front, then ends with some slight cirtus hop bitterness, and light alcohol heat that lingers. Tasty beer, with some good malty and estery character. A nice beer to relax with at the bar, and a nice beer to enjoy to take home in a growler. I liked this one. tgncc (824), Bellmore, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 4, 2008 Sweet aroma, mainly of caramelized malts, and a definite if small component of alcohol. (I know, the ABV is not high, but I smell it.) Overall, very pleasing. The appearance is amber, of course, with a modest white head. Very attractive. The flavor is roasted malts, caramel, toffee, minor hop contribution. The finish is mainly sweet malts, and is very pleasing as well. Overall, a very respectable beer. malrubius (1002), Valley Stream, New York, USA

Toasted caramel malty flavor with mild ripe fruit and mild bitter and nutty finish. Very malty. medium-full body, medium carbo. Pretty damn good for an amber ale.
