Very dark chestnut, but not quite brown. A thin scum on the top that represents a head. Slightly chocolatey malt with a touch of sourness, some dairy quality. Taste is quite long and malty, very lightly hopped, slightly metallic tinge with some nuttiness. Quite a nice one, with a warm throatfeel.

Clear medium to dark brown color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, caramel, toffee, cheap chocolate. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20090808]

Sep 17, 2009 Cask conditioned at Guy Fawkes Inn, York. Chestnut colour with cream head. There was really good depth to this mild ale, rich choclate notes to the fore, quite creamy and a touch sweet. Moorish and rich with a heavy roasted malt base. Pretty decent.

Aug 8, 2009 Bottled. Amber colour, not much head. Aroma is caramel, some rubber, some slight vanillaish notes. Flavour is quite much the same. Actually quite boring, even though it has the ingredients needed.

Dark nut brown, not much head. Aroma has toffee and mould. Caramelly, some dry hoppyness. Dry woody aftertaste. Simple.

Aug 7, 2009 Bottle-conditioned at GBBF 2009 (shared with M0RHI :-). Pours a deep red-brown with very little head. As the chill eased off, a honey and chocolate aroma emerged, smooth mouthfeel, slightly nutty & roasty with a little dark fruit and chocolate, and some floral hops in the background. A nice bottled mild.

May 10, 2009 Tawny brown, maybe a hint of red. Some wee bits of head floating about.
Very roasty malt aromas. Dusty but hearty.
Quite rich but very drinkable and light. Some chocolate and milkyness. A small amount of iron in the finish. Surprisingly deep but still quite light and easy.
A lovely warming mild.
