maeib (4012), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Sep 25, 2008 Cask conditioned - handpump - New Inn, Cropton. I ordered this before I noticed the ABV. I was supposed to be driving, but fortunately Clare took the wheel. Had I noticed the ABV, I’d have ordered it anyway as an 8% beer is a treat when you don’t have to drive. Amber with a white head and lacing. A strong boozy nose with fruits and malts. Sadly the head does stifle those aromas. Lovely and full in the mouth. A great balance of malts and hops. Nice friuits and super alcohol. Very smooth palate. Full bodied and bloody tasty. cgarvieuk (2541), Edinburgh, Scotland Aug 21, 2008 Bottle at home Thanks to Fin for this ... amber ... light metalic hop ...sweet rich toffee malts ... little metalicness... some citrus in the background ... some nice resiny tones... decent depth and complexity of flavour... not a stunning beer but tasty enough... saying that this grew on me as i got through it. A good reason not to sample from 100ml :-) upping from 3.3 to 3.6 pickled (46), New Zealand Aug 7, 2008 Not a memorable beer but not too bad either. Looked better than it tasted with a decent head and fine carbonation. malt and booze driven. bierkoning (4932), La Tropica, Netherlands Jun 14, 2008 Bottle conditioned. Orange color, hazy. Sugary aroma with a hint of apricot. Malty sweet flavor, salty with hints of pineapple. Medium to full bodied, fairly alcoholic. Fin (2357), Merton, Oxfordshire, England May 5, 2008 BCA, Westholme, Londis, Goring on Thames, Oxon, 03-05-08 Pours orangey amber with large off- white fluffy head and med’ carbonation, some alcohol and malt on the nose. Taste is malty and fruity with a bitterness at the back of the mouth. The bitterness becomes more pronounced as you get further down this beer, there is also some citrus, I seem to like this better than some of the other raters although I think it could have been a lot better.
