reakt (810), Greater London, England Mar 16, 2008 Updated: Mar 19, 2008 Bottle from Uto, another I was gonna trade off at Zythos. Clear gold with a fluffy, lasting white foam. Lovely aroma, sligtly floral with tropical and citrus fruits, sweet vanilla and maybe even honey. Some subtle barley in there also. To be honest, I’m not familiar with lychee but if this is what it’s like I need to try some. Taste is actually much the same, nice bitter citrus zest hops but so well balanced with the juicy floral notes and sweetness. WOW! Update - Had this on cask @ The Wenlock yesterday and after two pints I have to say I preferred the bottled version. Don’t get me wrong, it was still pretty darn good but lacked the refinement, sweetness and delicate floral and fresh fruit notes that seemed to shine through from the bottle.
albertane (277), Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England Aug 19, 2008 Cask at the Grantham Beer Festival. This is a rich, golden beer with a spicy citrus aroma and a full flavour with a deep bitterness with some malty sweetness. It’s almost an American pale ale, and an extremely rewarding drink. cluny6 (65), Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England Aug 4, 2008 I am really getting into these golden ales. They make for a great beer to drink when you feel like having a few. This one is a medium golden blonde, clear, with small head. Not too much in the aroma department, mostly citric, floral and pine.. Very crisp palate. Taste is medium hoppy, grapefruty. Very good beer from an awesome brewery. I have to try more of their brews.
