Had on cask at the pride of spitalfields, barmaid was absolutely lovely! pours a really pale gold....fancy that it’s called brewers gold and it’s a golden ale...anyway i kinda thought it might be over rated but man was i wrong. i think the best thing about the beer is the body, carries the hop flavours and bitterness really well, it’s all passionfruity and citrus goodness with that body....sounds like i’m talking about my wife but man what a body, it just makes and carries the beer! A strong citrusy aroma of grapefruit and orange, hoppy with a biscuity malt undertone. The taste is dry and a very citrusy combination of grapefruit, lemon and orange. The hops and a smooth biscuity malt flavours come through towards the end, making a dry, yet smooth finish. (Cask @ Charters Bar, Peterborough, before the PBF06 opened). Lovely aromas of lemon and malt but flavours are outstanding in this beer. I love how the spice and lemon get you at the beginning but the taste is finished off nicely with a complimenting bitterness. A complex, though well-balanced pint, it’s definitely worth seeking out and at 4.0%, it’s the perfect session beer. imdownthepub (5125), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England

A real star of the festival, refreshing and hoppy with citrus notes. The cask emptied early showing how popular the beer was. Flowery bouquet an excellent beer. albertane (376), Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England

It’s a nice golden colour with a strong floral aroma. It’s extremely hoppy and flavourful with lots of citrus fruit. I love any beer that tastes this good while still being relatively low in ABV.
