A Mes rate. Cask at the White Horse.
Badged as plain old Crown IPA, guessing it’s the same... Spectacular Brit ipa. Attractive hazy Amber. Big grassy and floral hop nose with hints of pepper and alcohol. Flavour is cat piss, grass, a ton of citric bitterness and some excellent body from the malt superb length, equally good fruit. Great stuff.

(Cask, by gravity, at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 29 Nov 2009) At least I think it’s this beer, it was labeled Crown IPA 7.2%. Just let me know if I’m wrong. Reddish amber colour with a foamy, beige head. Fruity, hoppy nose with grapefruit, orange peel and pine needles. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of grapefruit, pine needles, resin and orange peel. Slightly more than medium body, fairly sweet. Very hoppy and bitter, might be the hoppiest English beer I’ve tried. Stunning stuff!

Cask Handpump at the Harlequin, Sheffield 18/04/2009 Fruit and hop aromas. Golden coloured floral fruity and a little hazy in appearance. Very hoppy with lots of bitterness and malt in a crisp and slightly dry finish.

[bottle purchased at brewpub] Sweet yeasty and spicy aroma with ginger, a little brow sugar, and lychee fruit. Cloudy brown-gold with a thick, off-white cover that lasts. Spicy malt and potent UK hops that are slightly herbal and not so citrusy. Peppery with a very gently bitterness that is just enough to balance the bigness of this brew. Medium to full body, moderate carbonation, spicy/herbal finish.

Cask in the hillborough hotel, sheffield. Alround rating: Very green and grassy hop, sharp greenness, over powers the malt, but its strange in that its not a normal hop character id associate with an ipa.

[RBESG, Sheffield]
Cask @ Hillsborough Hotel, Sheffield.
Pours hazy golden with a small, frothy, off-white head. Aroma is grassy, light pine, fruity hops. Crisp, lively carbonation, good mouthfeel. Good bitter flavour, grass, light spicy (some pepper), fruit, grapefruit. Good hoppy finish.
