Pours rootbeer brown with a thin tan head and medium lacing. Aroma is sweet chocolate, some vanilla notes, a yeasty dough note, and mild hop pepper. Flavor is sweet up front, chocolate notes, giving way to lightly burned toast, tobacco, and some distant woody esters. I agree with the previous rater that the carbonation is somewhat sharp, particularly in the finish. Good beer despite the flaws, but a slight tweaking of the recipe could make this one great.

12 oz bottle - thanks to phaleslu for the bonus bottle; clear light brown with thin tan head to the edges; nutty nose is sweet, thin and creamy; roast is astringent with slight bitter chocolate; texture is watery thin and so is the flavor profile; a pretty weak effort overall

Draft sample at the brewery. Pours a clear brown cola color with a small off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts, brown sugar, chocolate, vanilla, toast, and mild spices. Flavor is led by brown sugar, chocolate, and vanilla, sweet overall, and roasty late. Some notes of wood. Light-medium bodied, with a smooth, syrupy mouthfeel. Not a bad porter but nothing special.

(bottle) deep brown with huge tan head and nice lace. Roast malt aroma with some chocolate. The flavor is bitter chocolate, roast malt, tobacco. Could use a tad more body. Nice porter from a new brewery.

Dark copper with a medium tan head. Has a burnt chocolate and bread aroma. Medium body has watery, bitter taste, with a harsh finish.

Pours dark brown with a reddish hue along with a sudsy tan head. The aroma has creamy light chocolate and dark toasted malt. It is smooth, but seems a bit thin. Quite clean. Medium / thin body with sharp prickly carbonation. The flavor starts like a watered down version of the aroma with more roast on the malt. The finish is lingering, harsh and bitter. Not sure if the bitterness is from the hops or roasted malt. Okay porter.
