Clear, brown-red coloured with a perfectly creamy head. . Taste is sweet, caramel, has some hops, nuts also. And, I thought there was some peat in it as well. But after some days on the Scottish isles you smell peat everywhere.. Enjoyable brew. kmacphail (37), Isle of Lewis, Scotland
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 6/20 | Aug 8, 2008 I sampled a bottle of this at home after getting a pack as a gift. The beer poured nicely into a mug pint glass with a thick head and brown body. That’s about it, no nose to speak of, not even any taste; this was like drinking a pint of coloured water. I sampled another to make sure it wasn’t off, but this was the same. I tried another from a different batch a few weeks later to the same effect. This is a pint of coloured water. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jan 4, 2007 Bottle at home. Dark amber with a moderate head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, fruit, apple. I find the same notes in the flavour, that also has notes of caramel. There is a brief acidity in the middle and a nice bitterness generally. It’s too apple-juice-like and too thin. albert007 (412), Penobsquis, New Brunswick, Canada

Yeasty aroma, pretty much drowned out everything else. Deep Amber color with nice lacing and a cascading head a-la Guinness. Yeasty taste, hop bitterness with a bit of malt sweetness hiddin in there. Served warm, but for some reason I liked it that way. Optimum drinking setting made for a high overalll score
