JorisPPattyn (5155), Antwerpen, Belgium Jun 7, 2007 Pretty old sample Fully clear copper beer with small, just off-white head; end of bottles one heap of U.F.O.’s. Nutty, sweet, like a sweetened sherry fantasy; cherrypie. Quite sweet taste, nutty flavours, a bit fruity and flat as a pancake. Suffers from age. Ends sherry-like and sweet at the same time, fading away quicky. Medium bodied, alcoholwarming, but very flat. Well - Huyghe wasn’t meant to age - even then. mlist55 (210), media, Pennsylvania, USA May 24, 2007 hazy, pale golden ale with an incredibly dense and frothy head. Fresh, slightly fruity nose some coriander. Also coriander in the flavour combined with yeast and sweet malt. Bart (1625), Vosselaar, Belgium May 17, 2006 I had this one in Kulminator, antwerp, a very old bottle, from 1987. Blond amber coloured, still a lot of carbonation, small white head. Sweet very fruity (ripe fruits) aroma, some very light madeirisation. Smouth palate, light sprankling. Finish is a little bit more wattery and flat. Some fruity taste, with a short sour-appel touch. Misses some character near the end, but what can you expect form a beer that is almost 20 years old. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 11, 2005 (Bottle 25 cl) Beautiful, hazy, pale golden ale with an incredibly dense and frothy head. Fresh, slightly fruity nose - I detect some coriander. Also coriander in the flavour combined with yeast and sweet malt. Pronounced dryness rather than bitterness. A lovely beer. 270499
