Skyview (3029), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Nov 19, 2008 Sampled during Minnesota first annual Sourfest and shared by EddieB. Pours a hazy golden orange brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipated to a fine film. Aroma of tart citrus and golden grain malt, a touch of yeast funk and some brick cheese. Taste is medium bodied, with some average carbonation with flavors of tart tropical fruit, citrus, yeast, oak and some lemon. Finish has a nice balance of golden grain malt, yeast and tart fruit. SHIG (1659), Oberoffligen, Germany Nov 19, 2008 Bottle: Poured a murky yellow orange with a thin white head. Aroma is sour fruit and barnyard. Taste is sour and bitter fruit, funky to all parts of my tongue. Very interesting to say. JMFG (1198), Florida, USA Oct 25, 2008 Courtesy TheCheeseman. Cloudy orange-brown color, thin white head. Very mild fruity tart aroma, light oaky notes. Mild funk/tart taste, sweet dark fruits on the back end. Nice, but very low-key for a sour. scraff (1703), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Oct 18, 2008 Light amber, zero head. Sour oak aromas ride a lemony funked undercurrent. Similar flavors with sour lemon and wood balancing on hints of funk and barnyard. Light bodied and thin with very faint carbonation. My guess is bad bottle here. I’ll re-rate at some other point in life… BDR (1960), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Oct 17, 2008 Like most De Ranke products, this one was a bit disappointing young. However, if this follows the path of their other products, in a few years this will be divine. A faint sweet sourness and balancing sweetness. Brett and faint sourness in the body and lots of yeast.
