Lovely clean gold colour with plenty of rising carbonation. Initially huge rocky head that is full of huge bubbles, settling to a thin covering that lasts well and leaves plenty of chunky lacing. Pleasant yeasty and alcoholic aroma that is typically Belgian. Lovely sweetness and delicately spiced hoppage. Flavour has an odd burnt and smoky note that doesn’t really work. Slight hops, more yeast and some fairly harsh alcohol. Salty finish with some faint bitterness leaving some lingering alcohol. A little sticky unfortunately. Almost very nice but the flavour lets it down.
