Aroma is very Belgian. Coriander, cloves and candi sugar.
Flavour is quite simple. Bit metallic, grainy. Warm alcohol, sugary sweet. There is a faint mustiness, herbs. Dry finishing with lingering coriander.
Perhaps this bottle is quite old, but it seems all about the dryness and yeast character.

This beer pours a somewhat murky golden yellow color with a medium off-white head that dissipates slowly. Thick rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of yeast, fruit and flowers. Medium body with flavors of yeast, fruit, toasted malt and mild spice. The finish is yeast and fruit and lingers a little while. Slightly above average overall. wekker84 (70), etten-leur, Netherlands

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 30, 2009 Fresh and fruit nose. Clear colors with a good foam. Honestly the taste is rather short and the palate rather light. Furthermore, it goes straight to the head. Not worth drinking. stfrancis (30), Heffingen, Luxembourg

Cold-filtered blonde pours a cloudy pale yellow with a smallish white head. Little lacing.
Aroma of orange, coriander and yeast.
Medium-bodied strong pale Belgian ale with a thick, creamy mouthfeel. Active carbonation.
Taste is dominated by coriander as well, with some other herbal spices in the mix. A citric edge to keep things fresh, and a malty note for gravity. Sour and herbaceous finish, with a faintly spicy after taste.
This beer is better than some comments here seem to suggest. It’s certainly not "simple", and also agreeably less sweet than many other Belgian strong ales. Because of the many spices, its suitability as a session ale is limited. If the price were right, I would probably drink this more often. Expensive as it is, it’ll be a one-off - probably. proesti (58), Lille Nord, France
