Nice malty nose. Smooth and mildly sweet, and a clean mildy hoppy finish. Enough flavor to be decent with food, specifically Bagel Bites, if memory serves, but not really very interesting. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jun 23, 2003 Nice dark brown color, small sized head, roasted malt aroma, malty slightly sweet taste with a mild skunkiness to it could be the age, definately looked like it had been around for awhile.the after taste was malty with a mild hop presence, definately not a good beer in this style and i would recommend getting something different unless you can tell it is some what fresh.I may re-rate this if i can confirm that it is some what fresh. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jun 12, 2003 When this Dunkel was poured it consisted of a large beige invigorating head with fine-large bubbles. The body was a reddish-brown. There was virtually no lacing observed and there was some carbonation. The aroma was citrusy and flowery. It had a thin flavor to it. Not too impressed with this Dunkel. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 12, 2003 This brew pours a large head of fine off white colored bubbles and a transparent brown body. It has a nice malt aroma with a very little lacing. Its mouthfeel is fizzy and somewhat tingly. The flavor of this brew is somewhat thin with nothing special to remark about. Not much flavor at all, a few caramel notes if anything. Definately lacking in character. clvand0 (350), Lexington, Kentucky, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jun 12, 2003 This beer pours a light brown color and has moderate head and lacing on the glass. It has a very hoppy aroma that is somewhat promising. The flavor reminded me of a tolerable Heineken (ass beer). It was not nearly as bad, but the flavor is very similar. This beer should be yellow also, not dark.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 23, 2003 Dark amber in color with a small off white head. Roasted malt aroma. Thin and slightly watery. Some hop notes on the finish. I'm probably rating this higher than I should. But it was a frequent friend when I was younger. WabashMan (802), Noblesville, Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 13, 2003 Apparently this one is so traditional that only five people now on this site have even had it! Interesting... Anyway, it's got a nice color and light tan head. Aroma is lightly malty, but there's not much here. The flavor is fairly light, and lacks depth. There really isn't much to this beer...pretty standard stuff.
