duff (5407), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Sep 22, 2001 smells ok, but thats about it, this beer sucks arse, don’t buy it. hopscotch (4661), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Aug 27, 2003 Beautiful, sparkling clear, mahogany lager. Large, frothy, off-white head. Spider web lacing.
The nose is of Russian black bread and clover honey. Hint of cocoa.
Nice, bold flavor. Roasted nuts, cocoa, vanilla. Well-bittered. Good balance. Earthy, damp straw flavor in there too.
Medium-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and lively carbonation.
Lengthy, bitter, astringent, dry finish.
Underrated... much like the 1988 and 1993 WVU Mountaineers football teams. Both had undefeated regular seasons; neither was listed in the Top 25 preseason poll. Just thought you'd like to know.
Cornfield (4390), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Apr 1, 2005 Updated: Sep 26, 2006The following was a rating for DAB Traditional:
This oddly obscure "An Ale" is a puzzlement. It comes across more like an American dark lager than anything else, brown with a roasty nose, lightly sweet malt tastes. Fairly light bodied with a mildly bitter finish, I’m not sure what I just drank.

Torrence Liquors, Calumet City, IL

Earlier Rating: 3/28/2005 Total Score: 2.7
Looks real nice, but it’s a fairly watered down dunkel. The clear brown coloring promises some good, solid maltiness, but it’s very light on the nose. Likewise with the taste - a little caramel malt, a hint of smoke, a bit of a spritzy feel in the throat. Not bad, but not real good.

The above combo rating is a result of having DAB Traditional combined with this dunkel.
JPDIPSO (4335), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Mar 2, 2004 Brown color with a modest off white head. Mild malt, caramel, toffee and nuts in the aroma. Hints of nobel hops. Flavors aline with the aromas. Somewhat earthy and a touch metallic. Thin and a bit fizzy.
