Clear golden with a solid white head. Sweet, solid maltiness. Medium body, lots of good quality malts - perhaps a little metal also. Vague bitterness. The original Dortmunder? 041009 emotv (331), Izmir, Turkey Mar 7, 2009 Tasted at Italy imported from Germany. Well nice bitterness for this beer. White head. Hoppy taste and nice lager.... gnoff (3559), Göteborg, Sweden Sep 28, 2008 (33 cl bottle on April 5, 2005) Clear golden color, white head. Clean malty sweet scent and taste. Medium to moussy mouthfeel, medium to medium low bitterness. Slipstream (734), USA May 13, 2008 Updated: May 14, 2008Not sure if this is the right brew, as my 12 ounce bottle had a different label and did not call itself any particular style. Still, it did not seem much like a pilsner, so I put it under this heading. This pours with a big, foamy head . The aroma is a bit nasty, but rich, floral hops are present. Malts are noticable, along with hints of molasses and honey. The finish is mellow and hoppy. Not bad at all. Strykzone (1458), Wood River, Illinois, USA Nov 8, 2007 Pours a transparent gold with a medium sized soapy white foam. Aroma is Saaz hops and the unique biting nose they offer. Bottle claims the beer to be "world fame" but my rating is number 18? Maybe its a small world, after all. Flavor is bready and yeasty. There is an underlying sweetness to this beer that reminds me of adjuncts. Its been a while since I had one of this style. Ok, it can be a while again. joss (3632), Garching b. München, Germany Jul 7, 2007 Bottle. Light metallic nose. Golden, light pearling carbonation. fluffy lacing eggshell head. Bordering on flavorless, a bit napkin, metallic hops. Light body. Forgetable... KingofCastle (202), London, Ontario, Canada Jun 15, 2007 can: Disappointing example of style. Starts malty, has that dortmunder aroma, amazing lacing on glass but then goes sour on the finish. Grab a Headstrong Munich Lager from these parts any day, or Svtury’s Ekstra and then you are set, yeehaw!
