Aroma is pungent, almost a grassy sweatiness. The flavor is a bit of the aroma, as is to be expected, plus a plentiful hops. Not much in the way of malts, although that changed as the beer warmed, perhaps warmer than one would usually drink a pilsner. Left a light bitter on the tongue and fresh feeling in the mouth overall, much coming from the plentiful carbonation, I would guess. Not too bad, really. I think I’m coming around on pilsners as I try a variety. gerardoluna (195), Mexico

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 11, 2008 (GERMANY) Golden color with a sm-white head. There is a malty / skunky aroma with a mild hoppy / grassy taste. The texture is lite and very drinkable. I think it’s an ordinary pilsener, could go down smooth in the summer. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 11, 2008 500mL can from the LCBO. Pours clear gold with a large white head. Aroma of bready malt and mild hops. Flavour is less malty than the aroma indicates, nice doses of herbal hops. Decent brew. jhumphries69 (730), Tyrone, Georgia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 10, 2008 12oz bottle.Pours a deep gold with light yellow/straw highlights. The beer is crystal clear and pours up with a huge, soft, beaten-egg-whites-like head that fades slowly to a small dollop but leaves lots of lace on the sides of the glass. The aroma is all pilsner funk: grainy, sweet pilsner malt combined with noble hops (saaz?) and lager yeast. The flavor starts dry and light with a distinct graininess that is bready and almost toast-like. There is also a note of floral hops. The middle of the palate picks up lots of bready malts with a very subtle residual sweetness and a nice touch of hop bitterness. The finish is somewhat dry, very well balanced, and includes the recurring themes of floral hops and soft, bready hops. The mouthfeel is medium in body and crisply carbonated - but not spritzy. Overall, a very drinkable, tasty pilsner that is very balanced. jredmond (1062), New Jersey, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 31, 2008 Crisp, grassy aroma with some mild peppery hops. Clear light gold pour with a lasting 1" thick head and decent lacing. Light and balanced feel that is very crisp, easy and refreshing. Grainy/grassy malt flavor with some mild balancing hops. Moderately bitter with a touch of sweetness. Soft, quenching beer, an easy lager for sure. Kinz (2215), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 30, 2008 My 100th German beer! Split with maniac. Clear gold, decent head. Unfortunate skunk green bottle aroma. Some honey accented malts, light floral and hay hops also in the aroma. Flavor shows a malt accented body, slightly sweet and bready malts. Hops have a faint grassy hay note. Very faint cooked corn, DMS note. Suffers from green bottle syndrome. Could be nicer if fresh, or bottled properly.
