Nice white head with moderate retention and pretty decent lacing. A very faint hop aroma. Nice bitterness. Some malts but a little more on the hops side. Overall a decent balance. Short lasting bitter aftertaste. Just okay, nothing special. GregClow (2514), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Fresh hoppy aroma with a bit of anise and malt. Crisp mouthfeel. Nice hop bitterness with good malt backbone to balance it. Lingering dry finish. A quality quencher. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 27, 2004 Golden carbonated beer with a thick white head. Average malty aroma with some hints of bread. Fresh hoppy flavor and honest bitter final. Without being impressive, this is a good everyday pilsner. Aldrighetti (162), Coltura, Italy
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 23, 2004 White head, medium size, clear yellow to pale golden colour. Flowery, hoppy aroma, weak malty, light toasted (hazelnut), very light yeasty. Well balanced between malt sweetness and bitterness, weak hoppy aftertaste. Medium to light body, oily texture. An easy beer, well balanced. Spiesy (2333), Global Citizen, Greater London, England

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 16, 2004 I was expecting a dortmunder style lager, and was a bit disappointed. This review comes from a mini-keg, 1.3 gallons of beer. As with most mini-kegs, pours an almost artifical, creamy head that looks lovely until it fades after a minute or so. Thin, with a deep yellow color. Much darker than similar fizzy lagers. Aroma (from mini-keg)is slightly sour, but not skunky. Flavor is malty with a slightly bitter/sour finish of weak hops. Overall good thirst quencher, though it is simply an average, weak-yellow beer.
I'd probably like this better in a green bottle. It's weird, but I like my German pils/lagers to be a little skunky. Not worth the $20 for the mini-keg... Maybe $10 or $15. You can buy Urquell (Czech pils) at a better price. It tastes better and has more flavor (and hops). kwoeltje (1330), Manchester, Missouri, USA

| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Apr 13, 2004 This is really nothing special. A bit thin and the head disappears quickly. However, not as bad as the diet version.
