pivnizub (3823), Porúří, Germany Nov 13, 2007 Bottle: Amber coloured, mid-sized, quite stable off-white head, strong sweet fruity (dark dried berries) and dark-malty to caramelly nose; smooth MF, quite strong sweet flavour, combined with a light bitterness; traces of medical hops in the sweet-fruity and malty finish. A goody, not too sweet and well balanced........
Thanks to joss for this gem ! German sample #2000........ joss (3120), Garching b. München, Germany Sep 20, 2007 Bottle. Rich berry, molassis and caramel in the nose. Dark chestnut, champagne bubbles, low creamy brown head. Solid berry and dark sugar entry, caramel notes carry over to a aromatic hoppy counterpoint. Medium to full body, light sparkly mouthfeel. Sugary, but not cloying aftertaste. Now this is a good Doppelbock!
