jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Oct 22, 2007 on tap-pours an off white head with bubbles and hazy gold color. Aroma is lots of caramel, some sweet. Taste is caramel-medium malt, citrus lemon, some bitterness. Light side of medium body. Minimum/mild carbonation. kimcgolf (824), Dacula, Georgia, USA Jun 4, 2007 This was offered up yesterday by the waitress as a new brew at Caruso’s/Dahlonega Brewing. Poured on tap to a burntamber color with a thin off-white head that lingered well and left decent lacing.
Aroma was pungent hops which was almost nauseating at first, but quickly turning more what I would expect from a bitter. Mouthfeel was slightly tingly and bitter, but not real pronounced. As for the flavor, nothing in particular stuck out, but it was reasonably enjoyable. I’m not sure of the ABV, but judging by the lack of it in either the aroma or taste, I’m guessing it to be in the 5.0-5.5% range.
Finally, the finish was pleasant, but not bitter enough to earn the right to be called by that name.
All and all, an enjoyable beer, just more along the lines of an English Pale Ale than a bitter.
