Dale Bros. California Black Beer

Septemberfest. Sample from a bottle thanks to nearbeer. Dark red-brown. Thin off white head. Aroma is caramel, watery. Taste is thin caramel sweetness.

Bottle, 22oz, thx to Papsoe. It’s a clear, copper-colored beer, quite flat and headless. Caramel, some bread and fruityness in the aroma. The flavor is much the same, with caramel dominating, and bready malts and fruity hops playing second violin. Full-bodied with surprisingly good carbonation in the mouth. Some bitterness in the finish, but mostly fruits and caramell. What is there to say? Not much wrong with it, it’s just not very interesting. 090821

Clear deep amber. Caramel dark malty aroma. Flavour of dark malt, caramel and some spice.

Bottle 65 cl. Clear orangey brown with an off-white head. Roasted malt in the nose. Medium body, roasted malt and a little licorice. Subdued bitterness. 210809

Bottle shared at Lithy’s Septemberfest tasting. Pours a clear chestnut brown with tan ring of head. Flavor is lots of sweetness and a little bit of vinegar and toffee. Not horrible, but far from great.

Bottle. Spicy aroma, some paper. Clear dark brown colour. Small tan head. Mildly roasted flavour, slightly sweet. Dryish finish, but not bad.

Bottle @ danish RB Gathering 09. Pours dark amber with a small creamy head. Caramel, roast, ashy. Smooth.

It is reddish-brown with a white head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel and a whiff of cabbage. The flavour has a light sweetness and notes of roasted malt, fruit, caramel and citrus in the slightly dry finish.
