Commercial Description:
As the Austro-Hungarian empire crumbled, brewers began an exodus to the new world. In places like Texas and Mexico, they tried to brew the Vienna and Oktoberfest styles they knew, but found the alkaline water required a darker, more acidic blend of grains. A new style of beer was born. Our Dark amber version of this beer is very malty in the tradition of Oktoberfest, with hints of dried fruit and a crisp, hoppy finish. Put on your lederhosen and Sombrero. Celebrate the season!

on tap at papago... dark auburn brown yet still clear with a soft creamy white head and lots of webby lacing. the aroma is very caramel-y and sweet with just a slight touch of roasty grainy dryness. palate is overly sweet and malty/grainy which makes for an unimaginative and weary brew. a touch of spice and some VERY mild bitterness show up on the finish. medium to full bodied from the sugars with a prickly mouth feel from high carbonation.

Sampled at Corner Butcher Shop in LaVerne,CA. Poured a dark auburn. Sweetness in the aroma, and the flavor was almost overtaken by the sweet malts. Needed more hops in what was an otherwise great attempt at the style. The mouthfeel was nearing sticky. Too pricy and too sweet.

Poured a nice Ruby colour, slight head. A bit sweet on the first sip, fruity, Sticky. Slight burned malt flavor, slight hop flavor, very decent brew, warming.
