YK23 (204), Israel Apr 16, 2008 Updated: May 13, 2008On tap at "pre passover keg party": well it’s more of a barley wine the a double IPA, good swettish malty backbone, nice hoppiness, fruity, full bodied, some weak alcoholic notes, some weak chocolaty notes, some dried fruits like dates and raisins. tomer (170), Israel Jan 7, 2008 Draught at the brewery. Acording to the brewer this version maybe closer to 9%. Small and stable creamy head, deep intense amber colour, aroma of barnyard and hops. Flavours of plum, apricot, dried fruits such as figs and dates and some cinamon spiciness in the back. bitterness starts out moderate, but intensifies as the beer warms up. Aftertaste is quite sour and long. The body is suprisingly not to overwhelming for such a strong beer and the alcolhol is kept in check. very good and certainly not middle of the road. Keep on experimenting David. DSG (849), Yuvalim, Israel Aug 8, 2007 Updated: Apr 17, 2008Re-rate 4/16/08: Draught at the "Pre-Pesach Keg Party" 2008. Dark brown-amber color with a medium beige head that disappears rather fast. Aroma of hops, some citrus, malty notes and a bit of nuts. Malty and caramelly flavor with some cookies and a rather bitter finish with some hops and citrus. Medium to full-bodied. I remember the hops being a lot more prominent last time, but maybe it’s just me. 7/4/7/3/14=3.5
Draught at the brewery. I tried it once before but it was served way too cold then, and I was a bit too drunk to take a proper rating. Amber color with a medium beige head. Aroma with lots of hops, citrus, peach and malt. Flavor of hops and citrus with some maltiness and a bit of nuts. A bitter finish with a bit of grapefruit. The high alcohol percentage is concealed very well. Full-bodied. Nice mouthfeel. Very good stuff. 7/4/7/4/15=3.7
