Odalman (6), Sweden does not count Jul 29, 2008 Can in Rawang, Malaysia. A wonder of a beer in such a setting, dark, european style porter with hints of licorice and roasted coffee beans and a bitter but round, chocolate finish. Really not bad. rsmeds (183), Turku, Finland Apr 18, 2008 Can.
Pours an opaque black, with an intriguingly reddish-brown foamy head.
Sweet aroma of roasted malt, rye bread, molasses and rosehip. Very much like mämmi, come to think of it.
Sweetish flavor of fruit and roasted malt. Ever so slightly tangy bitter and alcoholic aftertaste.
Smooth and very full bodied. Consider me pleasantly surprised!
(credits to tbone_!) foduck (300), Denton, Texas, USA Sep 4, 2007 at first i had a hard time telling this apart from the Royal Stout Ginseng. but i think this one has slightly better flavor. can detect some hops in this one. got a little anise flavor for just a second and then it faded.
the worst thing about this beer is that it’s so warming and Malaysia is not a good place to drink like that. it’s always hot and sweaty here for me. wish i could get this back home. yespr (6374), Copenhagen O, Denmark May 28, 2007 From 32 cL can. Pours deep brown with a nice brown head, sediments floating around. Aroma is dark roasted malt with a good bitterness. Flavour is strong bitter and coffee malty. A bit alcohol reveals itself. Dry bitter finish of 50-50 coffe and bitter hops. Papsoe (9999), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 26, 2007 (Can 32 cl) Courtesy of madsberg. Pours a clear, dark brown with an orange hue and a creamy, beige head leaving some laces. Some tiny, floating impurities though. Roasted, malty nose. Quite full-bodied with vinous accents, roasted malts with a light, underlying tartness. Distinctly malt astringent - but a nice brew, 200507
