Sharp spicy anise-like aroma, ton of alcohol on the nose. Thick syrupy mouthfeel. Sharp, hot alcohol presence, sweet middle backed up by a good deal of spice-type heat. Slight dry finish. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 20, 2007 Courtesy SoLan. Pours a clear pale gold, very syrupy looking, typical of meads. Smells of big alcohol and honey, a little clove or nutmeg in there too. It was some kind of spice. Big alcohol, noticeable right away. A little bit musty, honey is obviously the biggest flavor that I picked up. A little bit bitter, and kind of a rough finish. Decent mead. Nothing awesome. Caraway aromas take a well to shine through, but they are there. Thick and syrupy, very nice. elmatador00 (518), j-action-ville, North Carolina, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 20, 2007 Bottle... This mead rocks!... Clear, pale yellow mead. The aroma provides hearty notes of honey and alcohol with lesser notes of peach, apple, vanilla and smoke. Sweet, vinous, boozy flavor with a soothing shade of vanilla. Full-bodied with a syrupy mouthfeel. Finishes sweet, then boozy-bitter, then dry. Thanks goes out to SoLan for sharing his "forty" of this “totally gansta” mead! | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 19, 2007 Bottle shared by jjpm74. Poured a clear golden. Aroma of some sweet honey with a bit of a nutty herbal note, possibly the caraway (I’m guessing). Flavor is pleasant and sweet, though not overly so, with some minty characteristics and some herbal spiciness, only these flavors are somewhat secondary to the sweetness. Very hot... no mistaking the alcohol here. Burns all the way down. Most of the honey flavor has given way to a more sophisticated sweet flavor, although not leading to the complexity of the world’s greatest meads. Still pretty pleasurable. kkearn (1011), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Subdued sweet aroma with some mint in the background. Initially sweet, but gives way to spearmint and warming alcohol. Long herbal finish.
