Apr 21, 2007 Bottle shared by aracauna on 1/26/07: Pours a transparent still bright golden bronze with thin legs. Aroma of sweet dark caramely honey and a touch of caraway seeds. Body starts sweet and viscous with lots of sticky honey and the alcohol to match it with an interesting bitter coriander balance. They must’ve added a ton of honey to this because it is just that sweet and alcoholic.

Apr 7, 2007 Wow A Good Mead. I haven’t had many though so its hard to compare. Very weird brew. It stinks but tastes pretty good. Caraway, honey, and grape flavors. Finishes very smooth and clean for the ABV.

Mar 21, 2007 I was expecting much more than I got from this one. The ginger mead was very enjoyable, this one didn’t seem as interesting. It poured pale yellow with no head. The aroma had honey, light spice and very heavy alcohol head - that should have been expected for 21%+ I guess. Medium / full body that is smooth at the beginning and ends sharp. Starts off with alcohol warmth off the bat along with honey and white grapes. The finish just seems to add more warmth. This seemed very one dimenstional in comparison to the other meads I’ve had recently. I do want to try others from Dansk Mjod though.

Feb 21, 2007 Pours orange and still/clear. Smells of alcohol, caraway, flowers, honey. Tastes of honey, orange, heather and flowers with a semisweet nicely balanced dryness on the finish. Alcohol is welcoming rather than intrusive. A superb aperitif!

The pour is clear medium yellow. Still, viscous and leggy.
Big alcohol and honey aroma and flavor.
Very sweet sipper.

Jan 27, 2007 This is a HUGE mead, but the alcohol is almost completely covered by the overwhelming sweetness. The caroway is just a faint hint in the finish. Good in small doses. Great dessert sipper.

Nov 2, 2006 DBF 2005. Gold, no head and flat. Billowing aromas of peppery spices, alcohol and honey, big and sweet in the mouth with plenty of honey notes and noticable spirityness, some bitterness creeping into the finish but no match for the lingering sticky seetness and the warming blast of alcohol.
