Pours orange and still/clear. Smells of alcohol, caraway, flowers, honey. Tastes of honey, orange, heather and flowers with a semisweet nicely balanced dryness on the finish. Alcohol is welcoming rather than intrusive. A superb aperitif!

Generous huge 750mL bonus bottle from pepsican. Yellow color. Pours flat. Served at room temperature. Aroma of some alcohol. It can almost knock you out if you inhale deeply with your nose. The aroma also has lots of sweet honey, and some yeasty, bready notes, I think it could be autolysis or dead yeast or something. Very pleasant actually. I completely don’t understand the low ratings on this beauty. Very sweet. Lots of honey flavor. Some throat burn going down. I love this mead, and I don’t care if my rating is out of wack with all you other losers. Yum!

This corked bottled mead from a bottle shop poured virtually no head except for a few large sized clear colored bubbles that were quickly gone. The transparent uncarbonated orange colored body left a oily lacing on the side of my glass. The strong aroma was all honey like in a vinous sweet nectar. The mouth feel was mildly tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish with a vinous aftertaste. This mead burns in your lungs if you inhale its succulent vapors. The burn continues as it goes down your throat. The strong flavor contained notes of sweet vinous and honey. A wonderful best in class brew. It is a very good and interesting vinous mead. Almost forgot the quote from JSquire when we had this, "Its better than gay sex in a teachers lounge!" Did he really say that?

Pours a translucent yellow. Has hints of honey, fruit, and spices. Finishes smooth with a thick taste on the tongue. First mead I’ve had, very impressed. Thanks SoLan.

Provided by my generous friend LordErasmus! Very nice and thick - extremely sweet and a worth competitor to the champ Apis Lubelski (or Jadwiga). There seemed to be some herbs (coriander) present and a fair amount of complexity. Terrific.

i’ve been wanting to try this one for sometime now. Spicy sweet honey aroma, with strong alcohol on the nose (fumes!). Pours light blonde, a lot lighter than the Viking Blod. OH MY. Thats got some alcohol burn, sweet but not too sweet like the Jadwiga, the caraway in the Danish Aquvit comes through nicely, but man can you taste the alcohol! Overall an amazing mead!!!

Bottle... This mead rocks!... Clear, pale yellow mead. The aroma provides hearty notes of honey and alcohol with lesser notes of peach, apple, vanilla and smoke. Sweet, vinous, boozy flavor with a soothing shade of vanilla. Full-bodied with a syrupy mouthfeel. Finishes sweet, then boozy-bitter, then dry. Thanks goes out to SoLan for sharing his "forty" of this “totally gansta” mead!
