Nose was honey, sweet, alcohol, and hoppy. Ditto for the flavor. Slightly tingly mouthfeel. Medium body. Pricey and worthy of a try. However, this is not a Mead that I could or would want to drink a lot of at any given time given the ABV. Definitely a sipper for sure and a "warm me up" on a cold, snowy winter’s night. Overall, it was nicely done for the style and one of the better Meads that I have rated. Ughsmash (4046), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 1, 2008 750mL bottle. Poured bright medium orange.. flat with long, lovely legs. The aroma picked up bright, sweeter honey with thick floral accents.. the alcohol presence singed the nose hairs a bit, but this was very well-balanced. Prickly, warm alcohol and hibiscus hit the tip of the tongue with thick honey and dry, almost stale herbal notes across the middle.. dry, spicy finish with lots of warmth. Thicker-bodied and spicy on the palate.. a bit too strong in a couple places.. a touch stale at times as well. Overall a very enjoyable mead. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 1, 2008 This bottled brew from Patrick767 at a rating party poured a head of clear colored bubbles that were quickly disappearing and left behind a uncarbonated golden brown colored body. The aroma was sweet and nasaly tingly. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a biting vinous aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of crisp dark honey and was dry. Delicious and one I would certainly have again. Borup (1359), Albertslund, Denmark

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 20, 2008 750 ml bottle. Pours a clear amber tinted towards rose with no head. This is a still mead. Hibiscus is the strongest component to the aroma along with honey, ginger and some spice. The flavor is very sweet honey with hibiscus as the two dominant characteristics with ginger and some spice also present. Finishes with some significant heat. I know there is no ginger in this mead, but the heat tastes more like it comes from ginger than from alcohol. Definitely a slow sipper. Mike4686 (120), Bayonne, New Jersey, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 22, 2007 A metheglin mead, brewed with hibiscus and hops. Pours a very surprising dark amber color. No head, still mead. Aroma is extremely floral, from both the hibiscus and the honey. Apart from the floral character, honey is also very big in the aroma. Alcohol is masked in the aroma. Taste is again very floral, but this time the alcohol comes through pretty strong, yet pleasant. Honey and hibiscus are very apparent, hops serve only as a balancing character. After taste is well balanced between malt, alcohol and floral characters. Warming all the way down. Very nice! ekstedt (2440), Göteborg, Sweden
