Pours a dark cola brown with very little head; some white bubbles around the edge of the glass. Super holiday spice on the nose; pine, clove, nutmeg and cinnamon. Taste is kind of like the smell of fresh sawdust up front and then quickly into the spice with some maltiness, but this one is all about the holiday spices. This definitely reminds me of Anchor OSA. Good brew and from the aged OSAs that I have had, I bet this one would be fantastic many years down the road. Thanks Derek for the interesting bonus! aaaaaaaaaah (63), Warren, Michigan, USA

Poured a deeper brown color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of lots of spices (ginger, cinamon, and a bunch of others), chocolate, and I was getting some berries in there too. The spices were definitely the strongest of the aromas. Tastes of the same spices, chocolate, and caramel. This one was all about the spices. sleestak (191), Williamston, Michigan, USA

Very boozy on the nose with caramel TONS of spice, esp. ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg. Somewhat earthy as well. Taste is malty with a lingering spice finish. Very good, but will probably great with a little age. TheEpeeist (1488), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 19, 2009 12 oz bottle. Dark brown with a thin beige skin. Nose is nutmeg, cinnamon, caramel and berries. Crisp medium light with a tang. Like the nose, spicing is quite upfront in the taste. Allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg but mostly clove. Ginger and caramel come through in the finish. Very nice spiced ale. Rciesla (3845), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA
