12oz bottle acquired in trade (thanks Derek!). Poured a deeper brown color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of lots of spices (ginger, cinamon, and a bunch of others), chocolate, and I was getting some berries in there too. The spices were definitely the strongest of the aromas. Tastes of the same spices, chocolate, and caramel. This one was all about the spices.

Bottle… Pours a murky dark brown. The aroma is straight-up ginger snaps. Full-bodied and ultra creamy with soft carbonation. Spicy and sweet with lots of ginger and holiday spice. Sugary, but kept from becoming cloying by moderate bitterness. Finishes modestly spicy and mildly bitter. Bottle courtesy of GoT!

2001 Vintage: Very dark brown color with a thin off-white head. Very heavily spiced aroma of musk, cinnamon, peppermint, and sweet caramel malt. Starts lightly caramely sweet with a nice cinnamon spice balance. Reminds me a lot of Anchor OSA. A nice winter ale.

bottle, 1 year old. surprisingly well-preserved, both for your typical winter warmer beer and being a dark horse bottle. rich toffee and maple-coated roast pumpkin and scorched/caramelized/reduced brown sugar - basically nails the pumpkin pie flavor (graham cracker, nutmeg, cinnamon). rich, malty, full and frothy, chewy and resinous. surprisingly good.

Draft at Dark Horse. Poured hazy reddish brown color with an average fizzy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy complex nutmeg sweet aroma. Medium to full body with a sticky texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy spicy balanced flavor with a medium sweet spicy finish of moderate to long duration. This is good complex seasonal brew.

Label states 2001 vintage. Poured a very dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma was huge with clove followed by spearmint, ginger, and cinnamon. Flavor started with malt and turned to mixed spices. Kind of a light body and light in the malt part of the finish.
