Commercial Description:
100% malted barley gives this classic ale a mild biscuit, toasted malt taste. This is a medium bodied beer with perfect balance of malt flavors. The color is a brilliant amber, while the aroma is slightly fruity and malty.

Good quality amber...caramel/toffee sweetness with moderate floral hopping. Bready taste along with some brown suger and touches of fruitiness that was not expected. Petty decent sessionable material here.

Pours a light reddish amber with a white head thinning to nothing. Which is rather surprising given the large bubbles streaming to the top. The nose is very fruity. Strawberry, raspberry, and bits of sweet malt. maybe some acidic character? Maybe something creamy. Definitely something off. The palate is overly fizzy and chalky. Really kind of unpleasant. The flavors are kind of foul. Big and bready biscuit. I almost never describe a beer this way, so this is very extreme in this regard. A little toasty, with most of the fruit gone, and some of the acidity. This beer just isn’t very clean in my opinion. A lot of flavors mucking things up. Spicey floral hops just can’t do anything under this murky malt mess. The finish is somewhat fruity, which the aftertaste is all biscuit. Not a huge fan of the style or the beer, though I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve had from Dark Horse thoroughly!

Bottle. Sweet yeasty nose, floral hops with some sticky caramel and dentist’s office. Body orange-amber with a short beige head. Fruity, sweet taste, floral with some spicy yeast, good level of malt but sticky body is kind of lifeless. Faint toast/toffee. Medium thickness with biscuity caramel and that spice-floral note in the aftertaste. Overall, positive review, a good amber, tasty, but not memorable.

Bottle from sliffy via Mystery Swap 2.0. Turbid ruby/deep coppery pour with 1-finger off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, toffee, brown sugar, hops. Tastes caramel malty, with brown sugar, hops, maple syrup, and some dark fruit notes. Thins out a bit as it warms.

Bottle thanks to Sliffy. Poured a hazy amber body with nice size head. Aroma is of sweet malt, small amounts of hops, caramel. Bitter sweet caramel and malty taste, slight bite to it with a small amount of yeast present. Small creamy aftertaste.

bottle - Pours amber (duh) with very little head. It smells of malts and lots of yeast. The caramel malt and yeast flavors are accented by some mild hops. There are seriously a lot of yeast flavors there for an amber ale. Medium bodied and easy drinking, this beer is fairly good, though I’ve had better from this brewery.
