Commercial Description:
100% malted barley gives this classic ale a mild biscuit, toasted malt taste. This is a medium bodied beer with perfect balance of malt flavors. The color is a brilliant amber, while the aroma is slightly fruity and malty.

12oz bottle from sliffy! - Thanks Dan! - Pours amber cloudy with a short offwhite head that dissipates quickly. Aromas of yeast, grass, bannana, and some clove. Flavor is yeast, bread, caramel, and some bannana and even a little clove. Light carbonation with medium body. Not bad at all..

copper orangish colored pour w/ a quickly gone white head. aroma w/ some bread notes something a little off and a light biscuit and bananna. Pretty basic like an amber mixed w/ a bit of belgian.. odd.

Bottle thanks to my secret santa: Clear amber color with a small white head. Aroma, some spice, a little grassy, yeasty, some caramel. Flavor, a nice malty blast up front, biscuits, some toasted malts, mild fruitiness, some spice to it. Bready, great palate, medium to full bodied, nice and smooth. This stuff is pretty damn good.

Bottle via Mike Earnheart, the brewery representative. The beer pours to a nice orange body with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of clove and lager-like yeasts, alfalfa, and interesting spices. The flavor is very unique. Some hay and German malts with hints of cloves and bananas. Lots of nice yeasts. Like a Jolly Pumpkin La Roja without the sourness. Nicely textured palate.

Dark Horse Belgian Amber Ale 12 oz bottle Unknown bottling, raced 11/06 Medium pour in a tulip glass. Poured a hazy brownish copper with an average frothy mostly diminishing off white head with a fair ring of lacing. Smelt of strong sweet apples, with light to moderate spices, breadiness, banana and cloves. Taste was upfront moderate sweet bubble gum and spices, with roasted grain, followed by a strong roasted malt character and caramel and apple fruit tones, on a long bready finish. Mouthfeel was light to medium bodied, fizzy, slightly oily, with moderate astringency. Overall, an interesting belgian amber hybrid, that almost feels like apple cider. A bit rough on the finish, and simple in flavors. Pretty straighforward and interesting.

Spicey nose, with some malt and a hint of peaches, ruddy orange, medium sized beige head. Tastes of malt, caramel and butter-rum lifesavers. Light bodied, pleasantly swwet. Pretty nice. Thanks mds.

12 oz bottle, via Styles. Pours a mostly clear Amber colored body with a slight yeast haze. Small tight bubbled off-white head lingers for a while. Aroma is sweet with toasted and light caramel malts, some light hoppiness, and a lightly fruity yeast aspect. Flavor is towards the sweeter side, but a light bitterness and the yeast that come on in the finish balance it out some giving it a little bit of depth. Lightly fruity with a tinge of alcohol in the finish as well. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with very soft active carbonation, just shy of creamy in texture. A pretty nice beer, but rather lost among styles I think. Not sure why they don’t mention the Belgian theme on the bottle too.

Bottle. Pours a slightly foggy copper body with a small white-ish head. The aroma consists of cereal, pear sweetness, and tropical pineapples. The flavour is a tad light/thin. Bready yeast and kind of sweet caramel with dusty fruit in the short finish.
