| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 17, 2009 Orange with a thin off white head that fades away quickly into a layer of moat scum. Aroma of caramel, toffee, grain and toasted malt. Taste of caramel, sweet malt, toffee and mild hops. Body is a bit lively on the carbonation end and there’s moderate bitterness that ends up on the tip of the tongue. Finishes up with a caramel-toffee-sugar mix that as Jerry Lundegaard might say is “Pretty sweet”. cking (1041), North Canton, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 15, 2009 Sparkling, light amber color with a soapy, thin head and minimal lacing. Fruity esters in the aroma with banana and licorice notes. Airy and lively on the palate that finishes dry with a sweet bite. An underlying earthiness brings about flavors of banana, lemon, and bubblegum. Some caramel is noticed in the aftertaste. I like what the Belgian yeast has done with this amber ale, good touch. The beer is a beautiful dark amber color with a thin head. The aroma is rather impressive for an amber ale. It smells of banana, medium caramel malt, and gentle floral hops. The flavor is not amazing, but damn it is drinkable. This is a fantastic drinking beer, not too overwhelming in any aspect so everything shines through. The fruity flavors, the sweet maltyness and just a touch of sweet bitterness. Nephilium (558), Ohio, USA
