Very dark mahogany pour with a ruby highlight and a small, short-lived, off-white head. The aroma is really earthy, leathery, smoky caramel, burnt nuts, and popcorn. Lots more of the same in the flavor. There is a really unique buttery popcorn note that stands out but it overpowered by some earthy caramel malt, roast and nuttiness. Unlike any brown I’ve ever had. this is a great winter and fall weather oriented brown ale. The body is a little thin and weak with moderate carbonation.

On tap at brewery. Pours thick dark brown with small tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, caramel and toffee. Flavor is malty with caramel, chocolate, and some nuts. Thicker mouthfeel almost porter like. Finishes sweet and malty. Pretty enjoyable overall.

Surprise draft @ Royal Tavern in south Philadelphia. Hearty, brown ale with definite sweetness, and roast + chocolate malt. as the Fall weather begins here in Philadelphia it just enhanced the flavor of this beer in my mind.

BPW #25 Served on tap at Dark Horse Brewing Company. Appearance is a creamy and rich brown with a medium light brown head. Aromas are full of nice medium roast malt. Flavors follow with mild toasted malt; different sweet flavors come through, some different hard shelled nuts perhaps. Nice brown ale here.

Draught at Capone’s: Aroma of malts, nuts, brown sugar, and slight toasting. Poured dark brown/ruby in color with a medium-sized, rocky, light brown head that lasted throughout. Cloudy. Lightly sparkling. Full of tiny particles throughout. Excellent lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of chocolate, hops, brown sugar, slight tar, and light molasses. Medium body. Lightly chalky texture. Average carbonation. Lightly sweet, brown sugar and malt lacing.

On tap @ Coles, Buffalo.NY. Pours a deep dark brown. Roasty, coffee, light sweet aroma. Taste is roasty malts, rich malt sweetness. Mouthfeel a tad light but otherwise a good brown
