wmubronco1992 (103), Coldwater, Michigan, USA May 23, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. Pours a dark brown color with a small tan head. Tastes of carmal & nuts with a strong earthy mouthfeel. Only had a sample of this, but overall was impressed. As usual beer from the Dark Horse doesn’t disappoint. Rogueone (365), I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA May 19, 2008 Draft @ Brewpub: I can see brown ale fans really loving this beer. Aroma of sweet, caramel malt and a tad of chocolate. Smooth, full-bodied, and flavor of burnt caramel with a mild finish. rowefam3 (70), kendallville, Indiana, USA Jun 30, 2007 This really hit the spot on a cool day in June at the brewpub. The flavor seemed pretty complex for this style. Of course it had that earthy flavor that I find in other Dark Horse brews. Tmoney99 (3503), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Mar 5, 2007 Draft at 2007 Michigan BGWF. Poured hazy brown color with a moderate light brown frothy head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Good complex sweet malty aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium toasted sweet flavor with a moderate smooth sweet finish of moderate duration. Good complex brew. gearbike (338), West Bloomfield, Michigan, USA Oct 4, 2006 Dark porter looking brown. Flat with no head. This flat apperance also hold true for the mouthfeel. Some carmel/toffe tones. No zip nothing interesting.
