| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 11, 2008 Pours a slightly hazy honey yellow with thick cream colored head that dissipates to a thin coating. Aroma is very citrusy and smooth hop finish on the nose. Flavor is a bit dry/tart citrus flavor with a lot of piney hopes mixed in. A good IPA, fresh and balanced. Atlove (36), USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 11, 2008 Dark Horse Crooked Tree IPA pours a cloudy orange with an average head. The dry hopping give this beer lots of citrus flavors and a crisp, clean palate. Some critics might think it’s too dry, but I find it exceptionally refreshing. There’s also a bit of skunky resin in the flavor, which is distinctive. WisconsinBeer (526), St Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 11, 2008 Honey colored. Holy sediment, batman. Minimal head. As the description mentions, not as syrupy and big malted as many IPA’s. Hops are prominent but not overwhelming, with a fresh dry citrus and pine flavor. Medium to light bodied. Somewhat dry on the palate. This is just a nice fresh tasting IPA that doesn’t try to go over the top. mkgrenwel (420), Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 10, 2008 Bottle thanks to Tytoanderso. Sticky and resiny, but not so much pine, really more just a hoppy resin. Peach, tangerine, grapefruit. Malt backbone is just enough to hold up the hops. At times the flavor washes out a bit in the back and loses some intensity. I think it needs some bitterness to fill out the back. There’s plenty of balance, but the bitterness is so soft and mild it doesn’t flesh out the beer. I really like the hop flavors, but it doesn’t fill the mouth right. A weird analysis, but that’s what I’ve got.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 8, 2008 Poured a dark orange color with medium head.
Smelled with definite hops and a bit fruity too.
The hops were very apparent and it wasn’t too bitter.
It felt heavy with slight carbonation.
It was very drinkable for how heavy it was. Should definite give it a try. waolsen (1223), Littleton, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 6, 2008 bottle. hazy copper pour with thin soapy head. oily perfume hops, earthy grasses, tinge of alcohol, and mild citrus aroma. grassy hops, hop oil in taste. bitterness comes late, sticky malts. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 5, 2008 Pours a very cloudy medium orange color. A frothy, off-white head settles to a wispy film with a prominent edge. Random spots of lacing show on the glass. The nose gives off big orange, grapefruit, and floral notes. Citrus blossoms and dry grains come through fairly strong. The flavor is sharp and bitter up front, with grapefruit and grass really asserting themselves. Softer notes of orange juice serve as a nice transition to sweet toffee and drying wheat. The unfiltered body is substantial and smooth, but finishes slightly astringent and bitter. Overall, a very nice brew. Metalhead (571), Lake Zurich, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 5, 2008 Nice beer. Orange pour. Aroma and taste of citrus hops and some resiny pine. Lacks the obnoxious bite that some IPAs have. $10 a 6.
