Aroma is full of rich, deep caramel, vanilla, oak, orangel peel, faint citrusy hops. Flavor is rich with chewy malts, caramel, oak. Finish is mildly sweet, palate is just a bit thin. This is pretty decent, however this is definitely a barleywine in style. WisconsinBeer (531), St Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 28, 2009 Bottle. Pours a deep copper orange color, minimal head. Flavor is heavily caramelized malts, followed by strong bittering hops that are primarily grassy and a bit piney. Finish is very grassy, but not in a bad way, and slightly soft. Full bodied for this style of beer. Holy shit, I just looked at the ABV, had no idea this is 13%! Alcohol is completely hidden, no notes of it at all. Overall a solid beer, watch out this stuff will creep on you! dkachur (2424), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

Sweet malty citrusy aroma, very interesting. Not alot of hop character left on this bad boy, more like a barley wine now. Very smooth and malty, with just a little bit of hops in the finish, quite tasty.
