Commercial Description:
Have you read the description for the regular Crooked Tree yet? Well this beer is almost the same just double. We actually took the Crooked Tree recipe and doubled all of the ingredients except the water, just the way a DOUBLE should be made. Big hops balanced with tons of malt give this beer a huge body. Although this beer is as cool as "the Fonz" when first purchased, it gets really mellow and smooth with some age. After a year or two stored in a cool dark place you'll notice the heavy caramel and malt flavors are trying to sneak past the hops, they’re just not fast enough. This beer is hugely delicious so it will need your undivided attention (the chores can wait....trust us). 98 IBU's

12 oz bottle - Pours a slightly cloudy deep amber color with tiny off white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is full of rich, deep caramel, vanilla, oak, orangel peel, faint citrusy hops. Flavor is rich with chewy malts, caramel, oak. Finish is mildly sweet, palate is just a bit thin. This is pretty decent, however this is definitely a barleywine in style.

Bottle. Pours a deep copper orange color, minimal head. Flavor is heavily caramelized malts, followed by strong bittering hops that are primarily grassy and a bit piney. Finish is very grassy, but not in a bad way, and slightly soft. Full bodied for this style of beer. Holy shit, I just looked at the ABV, had no idea this is 13%! Alcohol is completely hidden, no notes of it at all. Overall a solid beer, watch out this stuff will creep on you!

Pours a dark hazy amber with strong aroma of citrus hops. Hints of caramel, fruit, and alcohol. A bit warm in the mouth and throat, but leaves a very nice hoppy taste in the mouth afterward. Take time to drink this beer.

Bottle. Pours a very dark amber color, close to a brown. Smells is very deep, and complex hoppy. earthy pine notes of malts and pine hops. Taste is great, deep, complex and a little too sweet. A lot of hoppy vanilla notes, great hop character. Great, high ABV DIPA. alcohol is hidden very well.

12oz. bottle, Pours dark amber, orange. No foaming, no head. Strong citrus/floral aroma. Taste is brutal, wonderful, hop bitterness is not for the faint of heart, the alcohol presence is obvious. Strong finish, over the top hops, lovely. Good DIPA

12oz bottle from hannont, big thanks Todd. Murky brown pour. Sweet malty citrusy aroma, very interesting. Not alot of hop character left on this bad boy, more like a barley wine now. Very smooth and malty, with just a little bit of hops in the finish, quite tasty.
