Aroma is grapefruit, pine, caramel, toffee, and alcohol. Flavor is a lot like the aroma, with a bitter finish. Tasty. bjcbeer (1), Brookfield, Wisconsin, USA does not count | 4.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 20/20 | Apr 30, 2008 This is one of the best beers that I have ever had at 13.6% and 98 IBUs this beer is way to drinkable.

The aroma is very deep, and the hoppiness is very enjoyable. The finish is very clean and scores at over 13 percent alcohol by volume. dm9831 (1167), Monee, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 28, 2008 cloudy copper color with bit of off-white, slightly lacy head. aroma of grapefruit and pine. flavor is strong hoppy, citrus/pine bitter. although i know there is a LOT of alcohol here, i didn’t get it in the flavor or the bitter, hoppy finish. i think i gotta try another sample to get a proper rating for this beer.... i suspect i am selling it short. msante79 (841), Orland Hills, Illinois, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 28, 2008 Thanks Tytoanderso for this one! Clear and copper fluffy off white head and decent honey comb esque lacing. Piney aroma. Big hop flavor (mostly pine giving way to some citrus) with a nice malty backbone. Alcohol was extremely well masked merlin48 (519), New Tazewell, Tennessee, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 28, 2008 12 oz bottle, green wax coated, pours a mostly clear copper body with a sturdy beige head. Lots of chain lacing. Aroma is quite bold. Pink grapefruit, orange, caramel, toffee, alcohol, and some earthiness here. Smooth medium body is slightly syrupy. Taste is citrusy bitter hops. Grapefruit rind and Valencia orange join with a solid caramel and toffee malt backbone. Warming alcohol is not intrusive. Very engaging effort that borders into barleywine territory. chimpscampee (566), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 26, 2008 Updated: Jan 27, 2009More an APA than an IPA and could use more carbonation but the nose and flavor are devine. 13.6% is alot to hide but this doesn’t have any harsh burn.
