Commercial Description:
Have you read the description for the regular Crooked Tree yet? Well this beer is almost the same just double. We actually took the Crooked Tree recipe and doubled all of the ingredients except the water, just the way a DOUBLE should be made. Big hops balanced with tons of malt give this beer a huge body. Although this beer is as cool as "the Fonz" when first purchased, it gets really mellow and smooth with some age. After a year or two stored in a cool dark place you'll notice the heavy caramel and malt flavors are trying to sneak past the hops, they’re just not fast enough. This beer is hugely delicious so it will need your undivided attention (the chores can wait....trust us). 98 IBU's

Pours copper/amber, with a small white head. Aroma is grapefruit, pine, caramel, toffee, and alcohol. Flavor is a lot like the aroma, with a bitter finish. Tasty.

This has to be the best bews I have ever tasted. The aroma is very deep, and the hoppiness is very enjoyable. The finish is very clean and scores at over 13 percent alcohol by volume.

cloudy copper color with bit of off-white, slightly lacy head. aroma of grapefruit and pine. flavor is strong hoppy, citrus/pine bitter. although i know there is a LOT of alcohol here, i didn’t get it in the flavor or the bitter, hoppy finish. i think i gotta try another sample to get a proper rating for this beer.... i suspect i am selling it short.

Shared a bottle at DLD 08. Pours burnt orange with small off white head. Aroma is hops, pine, citrus and malt. Flavor is a huge dose of hops and malt with notes of ccitrus and pine. Had no idea the ABV was 13.6% based on the taste. Great stuff.

Thanks Tytoanderso for this one! Clear and copper fluffy off white head and decent honey comb esque lacing. Piney aroma. Big hop flavor (mostly pine giving way to some citrus) with a nice malty backbone. Alcohol was extremely well masked

12 oz bottle, green wax coated, pours a mostly clear copper body with a sturdy beige head. Lots of chain lacing. Aroma is quite bold. Pink grapefruit, orange, caramel, toffee, alcohol, and some earthiness here. Smooth medium body is slightly syrupy. Taste is citrusy bitter hops. Grapefruit rind and Valencia orange join with a solid caramel and toffee malt backbone. Warming alcohol is not intrusive. Very engaging effort that borders into barleywine territory.

More an APA than an IPA and could use more carbonation but the nose and flavor are devine. 13.6% is alot to hide but this doesn’t have any harsh burn.
