Brown to black with a large brown slowly fading head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, sweet malt and mild smoke. Taste of malt, both roasted and sweet, coffee and mild smoke. For it being considered a smoked it’s not that smoky, which is why I probably like it more than I thought I would. It’s smooth, rich and sweet with mild lactic qualities you’d find in a sweet stout and finishes up mildly bitter. Good stuff.

Summary: Excellent chocolate-bodied stout, more ashy than smoked. Aroma: Dark fruits and chocolate, full bodied, stokes the anticipation. Appearance: Black, deep brown only at the edges, a few bubbles of head. Flavor: Strong mocha backbone; caramel, vanilla, and bourbon sparkle through at the front, some roast malt in the middle, turning ashy in the finish. Palate: Thick and smooth, with a dusty finish.

Excellent stout. Pours like oil and smells or raosty caramel. Very heavy mouthfeel and does taste very smokey. Try it with ribs.

Bottle courtesy of StFun. Pitch black pour with 2 finger tan head and oily lacing. Nose is smoky bacon, toasted malts and roasted coffee beans. Taste is charred barley, ash, coffee grounds and cocoa with a light smoky bitter finish. Alcohol is present on the backend. Medium, creamy mouth feel. A very good smoked stout. Thanks Josh!

Poured a black baclk color with a dark tan head. One of the darkest heads ive ever seen actually. Aroma was very smokey with hints of coffe and chocolate. Flavor was also lots of smoke, almost to the caliber of East End Smokestack but with more wellroundedness with the nice bitter coffee flavor. This is great Stuff.

12 oz. bottle (from Bulldog Liquor- Big Rapids, MI) served in my longing stein- poured blacker than a bad night in Austin once you peel away the horrifyingly false facade, yet another one finger dark tan had formed and tried to steal my car. Aroma of a darkened malt, perkulated coffee that has been sitting warmed continuously for over 24 hours, and... (insert melodramatic gasp here) SMOKE. Hits the mouth with a high-medium body, malt seems just a little too thin when compared to the other 3 that I have tried, bits of dark molasses notes in the middle are overpowered by SMOKE and cream, finish keeps going on forever like a brainwashed Obama supporter that just won’t learn to shut the hell up. Definition of irony for today- "The Blues" by GN’R came onto my player while I drank this. While in Texas. Yeah... sometimes you can never go home when you want to...

Bottle from the Piggly Wiggly. Deep pitch black, touch of brown at the edges. Tannish head. Nose has very little smoke in it, I guess it’s due to it being peat smoked rather than hardwood. It is a pretty nice stout, at any rate. A touch tart and acrid, but very smooth. Not overpowering. Pretty decent, but no smoked...
