Commercial Description:
Number one in a series of five stouts produced for the fall and winter seasons. This beer is full bodied with hints of chocolate, roasted barley, coffee flavors and a nice creamy head.

Bottle cold. Very dark to black with a dense, short-lived head. Nice aroma of fresh apples and new mown grass. Sharp malt with creamy mouth. The oatmeal quality is apparent in every sip and a sour flavor with small hop bitter gets the job done for this rather unique ale. I’ll drink all four!

Bottle courtesy of someone from the Tampa crew. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, and oats. Taste is the same as aroma with hints of bitter chocolate. Medium thin mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness and very well hidden alcohol. Very good.

Bottle, courtesy CigarCityBrew, I think. Pours black with brown highlights. Creamy head with nice lacing. Roasted malts in the nose, chocolate and oats, vanilla, and coffee beans. Tons of roasted malts in the mouth, chocolate, coffee, oats, cereal. Finish is big and has tons of roasted notes. Body is somewhat light, extremely drinkable.

Near black with a light brown head. Big milky sweet blackened malt aroma with vanilla. Ultra smooth and full bodied. Smooth, rich roasted malt flavors with some smoky pipe tobacco earthy sweetness lingering to the finish. These guys know how to make good stouts.

Bottle at Noogfest Four-O. Pours black with amber edges, orange-beige head. The aroma is roasty coffee with some chocolate and the berry tones I usually associate with oats. Flavor is roasty with bitter chocolate and notable hop taste in the finish. Not bad.

Pours a dark brown colour with very little head. No lacing, and flavors of a dark roast coffee, and espresso beans. Aromas of dark chocolate and oak, a tad bit heavier and drier than most oat stouts, but very nice.

There is a rich chocolatey aroma with actual oatmeal aroma and a slightly harsh edge. Slick body. Lingering bitterness. Satisfying.

Bottle courtesy of ogglethorp. Poured a thick black with ruby highlights and a large frothy brown head. Pleasant aroma of dark fruits, a bit of chocolate and cream and a touch of bitter hops. Flavor is quite smooth with notes of cream, cocoa, a bit of coffee beans leading to a mild bitter coffee finish. Flavor is sufficiently roasty without being oppressively bitter. Easy drinking and very nice.
